I thought of this while I was looking through the entries into the Quick Flexis contest. I saw an entry titled “Octopus with pacman head/ pac oct” which actually had a cover picture of a Minecraft character fishing.

  • Support free, woo hoo!
  • I printed everything in PLA at a speed of 50 mm/s and a layer height of 0.2 mm.
  • Total print time at the speed/quality I used is around 3 hours and 50 minutes.
  • I used 5mm x 3mm magnets for the hook and fish.
  • I used regular thread for the fishing line and there is a hole in the reel to allow you to tie your line to it.

ASSEMBLY: There isn't much assembly. As seen in the pictures below, slide the Rod Handle onto the Rod and the Reel Handle onto the Reel. Then just slide the Reel onto the Rod and put the Reel Cap on. I used a drop of glue on the reel cap.

UPDATES:

6/14/23: I've added a new hook. This one is in the shape of an actual hook and still uses a 5mm x 3mm magnet. I found that the old hook didn't have enough weight to cast properly without tangling the line but this new hook fixes that issue.
