I printed in PLA with ‘gyroid’ infill at 15% which is definitely strong enough for my use - though ‘grid’ or similar would probably be a better choice considering the direction it's likely to have pressure. A also added 100% modifiers at the joints to give them some extra strength.
Print the logo upside down so the surface is nice and smooth.
Definitely use supports on the top so the SNES logo prints well and allows the inset to fit correctly - it should be fine if your printer is well-tuned.
I also recommend 3 wall loops and top/bottom layers, you could also print at a higher temp for the latches to make them stronger
The author remixed this model.
I used the ‘Rugged Box’ by Whity (which is a remix of ‘Tool box parametric’ by Yanev) and the ‘8BitDo SN30 Pro Case’ by Jallark as the inside to hold the gamepads, as well as the ‘8Bitdo SF30/SN30 Pro Contoller Stand’ by Mark579 on Thingyverse for the SNES logo.
I beefed up the joints as much as I could because the leverage when putting the screws in makes it very easy to rip the tops off the joints.
I went for a flat design so it can easily slide into my bag without feeling too bulky.
