3mm LED Bezel (Printable)

This is a new version of my 3mm LED holders. I've removed the thread and nut, and made a push on ring to retain it.

My original 3mm holders were made to be used in a design just to represent a metal component and had features too small to print.  I had a few messages from other members who were trying to print them, so decided to create a printable version without the thread and nut.

This version is printable and I printed mine in PLA with 0.2 quality setting and variable layer hight with the default settings. Only the 3mmLEDHolder part will need supports and I printed mine upright with supports for build plate only selected. The parts can be quickly printed in a few minutes.

The holder requires a 6mm hole,  you may need to put the drill through a few times, as it is a tight fit. The retainer presses on the back to hold it in. Put the led legs through the bung from the slotted side, then push the LED and bung into the holder.

TIP:  when soldering wires to the LED legs, wrap a bit of wet tissue around the top of the leg, this will prevent the heat travelling past and melting the bung.
