this is a complete remake of my previous 8 way colour hub found @ https://www.printables.com/model/970762-anycubic-kobra-3-dual-ace-pro-receiver.
This new version includes:
A stronger retention cap for less broken clips.
A completely redesigned filament path to lower the friction forces when filament is being loaded.
And best of all able to installed without disassembly of your stock 4 colour hub.
Printing settings i used:
Cap:
Layer Height: 0.2mm (could likely be anything, in general lower is better).
Supports: None.
Brim: No (but add if you feel you need it).
Colour Hub:
Layer Height: 0.1mm (you may be able to get away with 0.16, but it may cause loading issues and again lower is even better).
Supports: None.
Brim: No (but still recommended due to the height of the print compared to its footprint).
Post processing recommended (required depending on the quality of the print)
Cap: None
Colour Hub:
Run a 4mm twist drill BY HAND down the tube holes to ensure they are free of material.
Run a 3mm twist drill BY HAND down the tube holes to ensure the filament holes are properly round and free of material.
While cleaning of the mounting holes is not necessary, this can be done BY HAND with a 3mm twist drill.
WARNING: the output at the bottom of the Colour Hub should not require any post processing, if there are any issues with this part you may have filament or setting issues.
Installation
PTFE Tubes:
simply run all the tubes through the cap with the latches facing towards the printer end.
then install the tubes into the Colour Hub in the same order and while applying a downward force, slide the cap along the tubes until it latches onto the Colour Hub.
NOTE: this is easier to do when not attached to the print head.
Colour Hub:
Remove the factory 4 Colour hub by removing the 2 screws at its base, these should be 2mm hex or T8 torx.
Install the new hub in its place using the 2 factory screws.
NOTE: v2 and v3 had flaws that did not make them suitable for release which is why there is a jump from v1 to v4.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
