All the hardware i will be using is necessary for the stock version. Though you can modify the parameters to fit your screws and bearings.

I opted to use bearings since it makes the whole assembly pretty much silent. It is also very smooth.

Printing:

The only model that requires supports is Holder.stl. I recommend printing the .3mf files which already have the supports. Print this out of PETG since PLA can melt on sun.

Non-printed parts:

  • Bearings: 625zz (x2)
  • Screws: m5x12 (x2); m3x16 (x6)
  • Zip ties: (x2)

Assembly:

Press fit a bearing into Vane holder from the bottom, screw it to Vane attachment.

Insert the Vane stick into Vane main, its a tight fit. Glue the fin to the back side of Vane stick. The high section facing up. And clamp it with the top part of vane holder.

Press fit a bearing to the bottom of the Holder. Its quite a tight fit so you might need a clamp. Screw the bowls in place, make sure they are all facing the same way. Screw it to the Pole.

Insert the vane assembly into the Holder, line up the hole and screw it in.

Now you can zip tie it to a pole, fence..
