A simple pegboard mount for a 16oz Rubber Mallet - or any other thick-headed tool with a < 1" shaft and symmetric geometry. I want to keep my pegs fairly lightweight, but at the same time I want to make sure that heavier or more dangerous tools to leave hanging always want to move toward the wall, and not away from it. This becomes particularly important if you're quickly picking up and putting back tools - anything that helps a tool ‘fall back’ toward the wall is a good design choice - hence the slanted-up ends of the hooks.

Extending on my Standard Peg design, and using measurements for my 16oz Rubber Mallet (Anvil), which is symmetric, I set up two hooks at the same level to hold the hammer vertical.

I hope you find this useful - and if there are variations needed for different types of mallets, let me know :)

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

Added broader backplate, two sets of peg elements, and hooks that are wide enough apart to easily let you fit the mallet shaft between them, and long enough to ensure a good catch/hold for the tool.
