Windblade (transformable, single print, no support material)

The city-speaker Windblade is a formidable warrior and master of the sword. She transforms from VTOL jet to robot, ready to take on the evil Decepticons in either mode.

She prints with no support material or rafts, and is ready to go with no clean-up right off of the build plate.

Windblade will need to be oriented to print on her back. She should be scaled correctly. Do not print with support material or rafts unless you love pain. She prints in one piece all ready to transform and roll out!

The katanas print as two separate elements at her side, and are already positioned properly in the .stl file.

How I Designed This

Windblade is by far one of the most ambitious projects I've ever undertaken in CAD. I wanted to try and make a transformer that wasn't blockier than a brick (unlike my previous designs) and I also wanted to make a jet, so I figured I could do both at once. I'm super happy with how she turned out and I hope to take all that I've learned with her to all of my future projects!
