The original Switchwire/Enderwire top PTFE/Bowden slot offers a lot of movement, but not a great chamber sealing. Temperature easily escape.

I tried to find a way to seal up the chamber..but also ensure enough X axis movement up to a printing height of ~170-200mm is ensured. I call it BOWROLL!

So here is my approach with 625ZZ bearing rollers to ensure a smooth bowden movement along with good X-axis and Z-axis travel.

BOM :

  • 1x printed feed slot
  • 1x printed housing
  • 2x printed roller
  • 2x printed counter block
  • 4x 625ZZ bearing
  • 4x brass heatset insert (M3x5mm)
  • 2x M5x18mm screw
  • 2x M5 nut
  • 4x M5 1mm shim/washer
  • 2x M3x6mm screw
  • 2x M3x8mm screw

Tipp - Cut off the POM wheels from your spare V-slot Ender 3 wheels. Every wheel contains 2x 625ZZ bearings!
