Deck box with bonus storage compartment modeled after a Mini Nuke from Fallout! I wanted a thematic deck box for the fallout MTG deck I just bought and thought it would be fun to make my own from scratch.
I modeled this myself based on images so the details and scale may not be exact, i was prioritizing printability mainly.
The print orientations should be self explanatory. The Main Body could probably print either way but I had better luck doing it upside down. I recommend turning the infill on the Main Body down to 10%, even then it will still take over 600g of filament.
The Cap, Mid Body, and Main Body all screw into each other. The Yellow Detail is meant to be adhered to the Mid Body with glue.
The Collar and Shroud are fastened with 8-32x3/8 flat head screws, I use these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09V6NW6MX?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1
The flat head screws are also used in the Cap as a visual detail (non-functional), so you will need QTY 22, could get away with 18 if you only use 4 screws for the Collar.
I also added QTY 6 of ΒΌ-20x3/8 truss head screws to the Mid Body for visual effect, these worked nicely: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FTDOQ08?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
The holes are all sized so the screws should self-tap with some effort, but tapping them beforehand will make it much easier.
I included the bonus compartment because the deck I got uses energy counters, and I wanted to always have some at hand. I recommend this model for energy and other counters: https://www.printables.com/model/54172-magic-the-gathering-counters-chips-updated-5-3-201
Version 2.0!
The main body is now split so the lower end of the fins are separate and attached with QTY 8 of M4 screws, I recommend at least 10mm long. This allows the fins to be a separate color without having to do a color swap.
It also reduces the maximum part height to 200mm, which means the entire thing can be printed on an Ender 3!
I also increased the card compartment to 75mm square to accommodate a greater range of card types, including a double sleeved MTG commander deck.
Last change: I added entrance countersinks to the large threads to make reassembly easier.
