Silica Dry Box for Spool Holder - Ikea Samla 22l

I use the Spool Holder from ThomaS_ to store filaments in my IKEA Samla 22l.

As I wasn't entirely happy with the silica change, I designed a simple, flat drying box with a sliding lid as there isn't much space between the rollers and the base. I don't think it's absolutely necessary to close the lid and have left it off...

Two of these boxes, each with 78 grams of silica gel filling with a diameter >1.5mm, fit into the base frame of the roller stand - I use regenerable silica gel with 2-3mm. The boxes can be easily inserted and removed with a little clearance.

Maybe someone can make good use of the box...

Little note (05/05/2024):
After a few users noticed that the lid had “a little too much play”, I adjusted the offset and made two successful test prints. The lid now runs more tightly in the guide.

I deliberately did not use a locking mechanism, as I had spread all the silica gel on the floor when I clamped it open ;-)
