Please keep all these small parts away from children and pets, some parts have pointy ends, and they could be a choking hazard too. Make or use these models at your own risk.
This is not really a remix of HLMAX's Coraline Button Key (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:33499), but I did use it for inspiration. I wanted to be able to print it without needing to glue the halves together. Instead I wanted to have the parts fit together (and then I will glue them). I think the HLMAX version is more accurate, and this was a quick design so I made some compromises in accuracy. it may make for a simpler print though.
This should be printable with minimal supports, see the pic.
The post of the key will need to be glued into the handle.
STEP file is included for easy remixing.
Update - printed it but the key broke since I did not make any changes to help make it stronger on my print settings. I re-printed it with a couple changes (below) which make it considerably stronger. I also printed two of the posts - see the pics. Having 2 of the posts printing helps with the finish (gives the PLA time to set as the head moves over to the other part).
Another option is to run the post with another tall part or even just a 2 wall cylinder with no infill that is as tall as the part. To help with that for folks that don't want 2 keys, I uploaded a cooling tower that is the same height as the post. I would use Cura's "per model settings" for the cooling tower part to print it selectively with 2 walls and zero infill and no top layers to minimize material waste. I'd place the tower about an inch from the post, it may string a bit but the layers should come out better than without it. See the pic.
3 walls
60% infill (Cubic Subdivision)
speed: 50mm/sec
If you find it is too tight to assemble, you can either sand it or scale it in the slicer, but I think the uploaded design should work fine.
Current and final version is 7A
