This is a tamping station for the lelit kate. Why would anyone need a tamping station for a portafilter that comes with a very well designed outlet that basically has the tamping station built in?
Well, I prefer to use a single-outlet: https://www.printables.com/model/204261-portafilter-spout-single-double
So this fits the outlet and the portafilter and except for the poor balance (it is balanced… but barely so when the tamper isn't in it's resting position) I'm quite happy with it. To counter the balance you can tape it on an iron sheet plate or something heavy… taping it to the table probably isn't the best idea if you want to clean it occasionally - but is another option.
For printing I wanted to use a semi-soft and temperature resistant material, so I ended up with making it out of PP which is a decent choice.
