Hello!

This is a project I've been working on for a while. The whole thing started kind of like a thought experiment on how could I make a hanging pot that took advantage of the capacity of 3d printers to make complex organic shapes.

The first model was shaped like a droplet,  but it had a flat bottom so it could be printed without steep overhangs.

Then it ocurred to me that if I separeted the model into a pot and a watering plate I could achieve the shape I wanted and even improve the functionality.

In time, I added some pieces to make installation easier and I tweaked the joints to get a smoother assembly experience. Although I would like to make some slight adjustments to the shape and maybe model a few variants that use the same system I think it's time I shared it here.

Anyways, the whole pot can be printed in a single plate. I recommend using white PETg for a longer lasting pot. I have tested all the joints on my MK3 so assembly shouldn't be too much of an issue. I've made a tutorial with a full explanation of the installation steps that can be found here: https://www.instructables.com/A-One-of-a-kind-3D-Printed-Hanging-Pot/. Just make sure that your nozzle is clean though, if a coloured string gets mixed in it will stick out and ruin the composition.

If you have any suggestions please let me know. Also I've added the CAD files, so feel free to adapt the design!

Happy printing!
