Better Double LED Light Bar Prusa MK4 (with Dimmer)

This is a double LED Light Bar for Prusa MK4 with LED controller for Brightness (Dimmer) and On/Off Control. I use an external 12V power source, because of suggestions from others indicating that the xBuddy board may not like the connection of an LED strip. If you still wish to use the 24V from the xBuddy board/MK4 PSU, make sure to use a 24V LED strip, as the controller is already compatible with 24V.

Its a Remix of the famous LED Light Bar Prusa MK4.

Parts 12V

• 2x LED Aluminium Channel, 50cm, U-Style (7x17.65mm)
• 1x Warm White, non waterproof 12V 5054 LED strip (min. 1 Meter)
• 1x Mini 12V/24V LED Controller
• 1x Wire (Red/Black, AWG22)
• 1x DC Power Connector Jack 2.1mm x 5.5mm
• 1x 12V/2A Power Supply (GST25E12-P1J) EU Plug  or 12V/2A Power Supply (GS25U12-P1J) US Plug (a high quality one, MeanWell or similar. No cheap china PSU please!)

Parts 24V

• 2x LED Aluminium Channel, 50cm, U-Style (7x17.65mm)
• 1x Warm White, non waterproof 24V 2835 60/m LED strip (min. 1 Meter)
• 1x Mini 12V/24V LED Controller
• 1x Wire (Red/Black, AWG22)
• 2x Terminal Connector 

Assembly

• Print parts.
• Cut LED Aluminium Channel in two 31cm parts
• Deburr the ends.
• Solder cable to LED strip.
• Solder wires to LED controller (+ to red, - to black).
• Connect wire to external PSU or internal PSU.
• Replace Z-Axis with new lightbar and enjoy great light.
