Used black and orange TPU. I’ve dialed the nozzle and bed temp much higher for the second layer (the one with orange TPU) and changed the z-offset by -0.1mm. As a result the 2nd layer looks like the first one - the surface is totally smooth and one can’t see that it was an overhang.

Printed this for my dad who just got a new iPhone 15. He loves it and the buttons are perfectly clicky.

@skloter_271869 They definitely work better than other cases with the built-in buttons. Great design!

Thanks for this model. Tricky to print with TPU, but it came out pretty good on MK4. Able to charge without the magsafe device from Alibaba. Probably not a true case replacement, but certainly good enough to hold us over a little while.

@PrintingD thanks for the review!! :) its so nice to hear about successful prints. If you have a picture please do share too!

Excellent model. Had to do some fiddling to set the buttond, but it worked great! Printed case in Fiberology Fiberflex40D and details in PETG.

@BlackFury that looks great! Thank you for sharing a picture :)

DO NOT PRINT CASE IN PLA.

I printed this on a Bambu X1 Carbon with PLA and it is too stiff. I never got it on, but I am sure if I did I'd have to break it to get it off. I only printed the base case.

The design looks good and it printed really well.

Update:
I cut off the bottom and slid the phone in. Unfortunately it does not hold to any of my magnetic chargers. Not sure if this is because of the PLA or not. (edited)

@skloter_271869 I missed the required part. That's definitely on me. Do you think the difference between PLA and TPU affects the ability to hold to a vertical magnetic charger? Apple's Design Guidelines say the thickness should not exceed 2.1mm

@projectprintlab I added an extra ring of magnets from aliexpress or amazon to make a stronger magnetic force!

not sure how different TPU / PLA works :(.

any idea if you'll adapt this for the non-Pro version of the iPhone 15? would love to see it and support your Patreon

Fits perfect, printed in TPU with 0.6mm nozzle and 0.2mm layer. At the top I got some stringing and as usual for TPU supports are hard to remove :-)
Thanks for sharing! (edited)

@StefanR_69947 that looks amazing !!

Thank you for sharing the pictures :). Did you add that modification on the back to the STL? really awesome dude !

@skloter_271869 I added the picture (my SVG) on the back in PrusaSlicer with add negative Volume -> SVG. A very cool feature of PrusaSlicer which I use sometimes to pimp my prints :-)

Hi, in your experience, does the inner "lip" of the case need supports? It looks like too big of an overhang, and I'm afraid it will sag, not allowing the case to fit.

Hi @VicenteAdauy_364630!

Thanks for sending a message. I've printed this case around 20 times without support on the inner "lip".

There are a few strings here and there that sag down (on the inner side so not visible on the outside), but I usually just cut them after the print and the case is structurally almost perfect anyways. And the fit was really good all 20 times!

I'm printing on a bambu lab X1C but I don't think there's anything special about my printer that prevents major structural problems.

Just try to really tune the flow rate to the TPU you're using.

If you end up printing it, please share a picture after. I love to see the prints other people do :)
