Made a freestanding 2 tier spool storage rack aiming for low cost and a minimal use of filament.
Using 20mm pvc pipes and superglue to hold everything together.
It was supposed to just be a proof of concept model but it worked really well so I'll publish it “as is”.
Making the uprights separate needing a foot and a connector is intentional, as it allows all the pieces to be printed (theoretically) on any printer with a 200x200mm bed or larger, if done diagonally.
Print a minimum of 4 uprights, 2 feet and 2 connectors to make 2 end pieces.
Together with 4, 20x450mm pipe pieces it will hold 12 regular 1kg spools.
I used 4, 20x900mm pipes and put an “end piece” in the middle for rigidity to make a 24 spool rack.
The pipe I use is from Biltema in Sweden and cost just over 1 dollar/euro for 2000mm.
If you like it or even make one please post it, like, share, and consider a Paypal donation. Thank you!
