Parts :  2x m2.5 x 6mm screws.

Tools :
-1/16 or 1.5mm flat head screwdriver or a Pentalobe screwdriver set to disassemble your SSD from the original housing
-Small Philips screwdriver or 2mm Allen wrench for m2.5 screws

Pre Assembly:

Step 1 - SSD disassembly from OEM Chassis

Using the flat head screw driver or Pentalobe kit, unscrew the two to three Pentalobe screws on the SSD chassis, located under the SSD’s sticker.

A 1/16 (1.5mm) flat head screwdriver is a substitute for the difficult to find Pentalobe screwdriver. Position the blade across the furthest points of the Pentalobe screw and push straight down. The blade should seat in the screw.

Step 2

Carefully remove the SSD from the housing. Only hold it by the edges and place it on an ESD safe surface.

Step 3 (Optional – foreign object / moisture protection)

A layer of Kapton tape can be used to protect board components. Care not to cover the screw holes.

Assembly:

Step 1

Locate the tray (underside piece) of the nano SSD module and place it on a flat surface.

Step 2

Rest the SSD into the nano SSD tray. Confirm the fitment matches.

Step 3

Fit the lid piece over the assembly and press into place.  Check the hole alignment. It is possible to reposition the SSD by a small amount (+/- .5mm) within the case in order to align it with the holes as needed. The hole alignment must be perfect to proceed further.

If for some reason the alignment is incorrect, then STOP.

The drive is not compatible.

Step 4

Seat both M2.5 screws so they pass through the case holes and through the SSD’s (pcb) holes. Do not begin tightening the M2.5 screws before both screws have been seated!

Step 5

Using a 2mm Allen key or small Philips screwdriver, carefully tighten both M2.5 screws until they are snug and approximately level with the top surface.

Done!

You can now mount the drive to a chassis or device using Velcro or VHB adhesive.
