Companion Cube Upgrade, Multicolor version

This is a remix of Landru's “Companion Cube Upgrade”, altered so that you can print it in its proper colors on any printer by just switching filaments.

It's also scaled-up considerably - this version is 8 cm on a side.

The sides and center piece have 2mm holes, so you can use bits of 1.75 mm filament as alignment pins when you put it all together.

Optionally, you can just let the "pins" hold the top side on by friction, making this into a storage box also.

I reworked the mesh in a few places to improve the resolution, also.

Print instructions

Print 6 of the side piece, starting with pink or red, switch to silver or gray at 1.60 mm, then switch to white at 2.60 mm. Prusaslicer and Superslicer make this switching easy.

The side pieces have a 45° overhang around their edges, so be sure you have really good cooling, and use filaments that aren't prone to curling, otherwise you'll get gaps at the edges of the assembled Cube.
