Because I kept having problems with retracting the filament to the AMS (even after all the “upgrades”), I designed this little block that fits in the spool holder.
When troubleshooting my problem, I noticed that most of the time it failed because the PTFE tube coming from the filament buffer to the Y-splitter slipt to far away from the backside of the printer, causing to much friction inside the tube and making it impossible for the AMS to retract the filament.
After printing, just click it in the metal spoolholder and slide it all the way to the back of the printer.Just make sure the PTFE tube is in it ;-)
It's a simple solution, but it seems to work for me.
