Simple box to give an access to power switch of the 3d printer from the front side. I wanted to use some standardised components and not to solder and cut too many wires and have mess underneath the table.

This box uses three components:

  • IEC C13 panel mount connector - same/similar to this: GME.cz link
  • IEC C14 panel mount connector - same/similar to this: GME.cz link
  • Rocker switch MIRS-101-9C3-R/B - any other circular with cutout hole 20mm should work - same/similar to this: GME.cz link

Hardware:

  • 4x M3x20 or similar length bolt and screw to secure connectors into the box.
  • 3x M3 10-20 (wood) screws to secure box underneath the table.
  • Soldering tool or crimping connectors to make the connection inside the box.

Connection inside the box is easy, L wires goes through the rocker switch (silver pins), N is shared between all three components (gold on switch) and ground goes through C13 directly to C14. Do this on your own risk and if you are not familiar with electronics, do not do it by yourself.

Cables

Once the box is finished and secured to the table, get an extension 230V cable (IEC 320 C13 female - IEC 320 C14 male) to make it work - included power cable from power outlet to this box, extension cable from box to power supply.
