This adapter allows the EVA 3 system to use Bambu X1 hotends.
Note: This uses a 30mm fan and is not compatible with the standard 40mm Eva faceplates. Both STEP and STL files are provided for those who prefer one or the other. There are only four unique parts.
Adapter:
- Print 0.2 Layers, 4 Perimeters, 40% Infill
- Orient to place adhesion dots on print surface
- No support needed for machines tuned for reasonable bridging
- Hardware BOM:
- 2x M3x20 SHCS to hold hotend
- 6x M3 heat set inserts for hotend screws and mounting screws
- 4x M2.5 Heat set inserts for fan and faceplate mounting
- 4x M2.5x16 SHCS for fan and faceplate mounting
- 3010 Fan (minimum 3CFM air flow rate) - Note: this does NOT use the stock 25mm Bambu fan
- The Bambu thermistor is a “Generic 3950” and should be configured as such in Klipper.
- This uses standard height part cooling ducts.
- The PTFE tube from the extruder to the hotend will be longer than on most other hotends due to the compact size of the Bambu hotend.
Aero Faceplate:
This is designed for use with an Orbiter V2, but should work with other modern extruders.

Flat Faceplate:
This is intended to be for people who want a lighter smaller face plate than the Aero one above or that have printers with limited space in front of the extruder.
M8 Bed Probe Adapter:
The stock EVA probe holder that uses a set screw for retention will not fit with the faceplate designed for this adapter. This uses a clamp design that securely holds the probe while not protruding forward.

Why the Bambu X1 Hotend:
With a hardened nozzle, long melt zone, titanium heat break and low mass, this is a great hotend for high production machines. Bambu rates this hotend to have 30mm^3/s flow rate in ABS.
The permanent one piece assembly reduces points of failure common with multi piece nozzle+heater block+heat break+heatsink assemblies (where a failure in any one of those interfaces could cause down time).
