Stacked Laptop Dual Monitor Bracket

This bracket is specifically designed for the usage with an HP EliteBook 840 G7 and a a Portable 14" Arzopa 1080p monitor. The thickness allowance for the monitor is 7.8mm and the portable monitor is 10mm. Other laptops and monitors may have different thicknesses. The FreeCAD files have been included so that adjustments can be made for your laptop and portable monitor. There is a 15° tilt of the top monitor forward which seems to work well.

There are some concerns with placing a portable monitor on top of your laptop's display. One, the laptop hinge was designed with only one display in mind. Tilting your monitor too far in one direction will cause the hinge to collapse or give way because it can't support the weight. The portable monitor isn't fixed to the laptop screen so using the laptop on your lap would likely have a tragic end.

This setup will only work on a flat, stable surface.

I used ABS for this, no supports, brim or raft. There is one part file, the other side is just a mirror image which I made in the slicer software.
