This latch is designed to be installed on a fridge with worn out or damaged magnet to help hold it shut. Latch could likely be used or remixed for many other latching purposes.

The latch parts are screwed onto a fridge using #10 sheet metal screws (4 places) (Close to M5 in metric). The latch pivots on a pair of #10-32 x 1/2" screws with nuts and the adjustable grabber moves on a #8 x 2.5" wood screw.

Parts Required:

  • qty 4 x #10 x ½" Pan Head sheet metal screws
  • qty 2 x #10-32 x ½" button head machine screws
  • qty 2 x #10-32 nuts
  • qty 1 x #8 x 2.5" deck screw

Design could be adjusted to work with M4 or M5 metric screws if desired.

Original Solidworks file is provided so the design can easily be adjusted. Also provided a STEP file.
