This version of the carboard spool rim has a tighter fit than the original, which seems to work better when used on Polymaker rolls, though I was still having problems on some rolls with them coming off. Instead of gluing, I added some rails to hold them on – similar, but different that the OG version. The version used in the photos is using a 0.12mm layer height to make it nice and smooth, which on the Bambu X1 is still a 15 minute or less print.
There can be some variability across different spools, so you might need to increase the print size to ~102% or decrease to ~98% to get the right fit.
Update 1: Added three additional alternate patterns. Generally, I don't prefer these as they take a little bit more filament and can be harder to get on.
Update 2: Added two more models. 1) Support your Polymaker pride with a rim sporting the Polymaker logo. 2) “Attaching to Polymaker Side Hole” locks in the side hold of a Polymaker spool and uses less filament than the original remix (but more than the original model) to help ensure it stays on the spool.
The author remixed this model.
