A simple fume vent system for your Elegoo Saturn and Mars 3D resin printer.

ELEGOO Saturn 4/3/2 and Mars 5

UPDATE 03/07/2024 -  Elegoo Technical R&D Personnel have confirmed for me via e-mail on the 03/07/2024 that all the Saturn and Mars Series UV cover, rear vent hole parameters are uniform over each version, so this adapter and will fit all the Elegoo Saturn and Mars models.

I wanted a small vent system, everything I could find was build around a 100mm vent system which sounds ridiculous when you are trying to move air from a volume of about 2cft, so I set out to make one more compact and manageable.

Vent system is constructed around 32mm (1.25") flexible tubing and 25mm (0.98") electrical conduit as shown in the picture but you can resize to fit any pipe system you have.

REAR ADAPTER
The rear vent adapter which connects to the red UV printer top has been designed to utilise the original covering plate and 3mm screw supports, air is consumed from around it from the inside. It fits nicely with the Elegoo carbon filter still in place.

The spacers are used to move the red UV cover plate inwards 5mm to allow a suction area. Use the same size M3 screws as original but they will have to be longer at 15mm (0.6"). Any longer and the red backing plate hits the carbon filter.

The hose connector on rear vent adapter is a ‘conduit adapter with lock ring - plain to threaded PVC 32mm'. The flexible hose fits in very snug and seals well inside this PVC connector.

Update 06/12/2023
Now 4 versions of the Rear Adapter to choose from;
1.  buy and add the PVC conduit adapter. (as above)
2. print the original Rear Adapter + separate face plate and glue both together. OPTION 2
3. print the complete Rear Adapter. (now with Flexy Pipe Connector). OPTION 3A or 3B
4. print a simple direct outlet adapter. OPTION 4

FAN HOUSING
I have used;
Brushless Cooling Case Fan 60mm x 60mm x 10mm 5V USB or
Brushless Cooling Case Fan 80mm x 80mm x 25mm 12V (std computer fan)
The fan used is well sufficient to drag air from 2cft at the rate needed. I have created it so it can be mounted inline anywhere on your system near a USB power adapter (5v) or 12v power adapter.
The holes for cover to body are 2.5mm, I have used x4 (4gx9) small screws to secure both halves. Hole depth is 10mm face to face once both halves connected.
Both tube ends on the housing face are 32mm ID

The vent system exiting your 3D printing room obviously differs for each of us and how we want it vented from the room so I have left that up to you. I have used one of the adapter parts from the delivered Powertec purchase and vented out through the floor below my desk, only having to drill a 1 inch hole and using 25mm electrical conduit and connectors. My whole hose system is about 5 feet.

I have recently added a ‘32mm Flexy Tube Face Plate’ to another design I had uploaded on Printables.com as a desktop fume extractor, and now this can be incorporated as part of this extraction system on this design. Everything here on this design still works sufficiently to extract your fumes, but the additional option uses the desktop fume extractor with a larger blower fan and will move more air from the enclosure if you prefer.
