DART Asteroid Impactor Model

On Sept. 26th, 2022 NASA intentionally crashed the DART spacecraft into Dimorphos, the asteroid moonlet of Didymos.

This models is designed for embedded magnets (placed during printing). The magnet sizes are 1/4" D x 1/16" H. For the solar panels you will need 1.5 mm stainless steel rod stock.

To place the magnets, set your slicer to stop printing just before covering the magnet holes. The magnets near the print bed will stick on their own (with a metal build plate) but the angled slot at the top will require a small drop of super glue.

Antenna prints separately and glues into body.

Looks best with multiple color changes, you will need gold, black, and blue filament. PLA works well.
