Fun with magnets! Three neodymium disc magnets are dropped in during printing.
Two 5/16" x 1/16" in the base, one 1/4" x 1/8" in the hammer. The magnets in the base need to be reversed polarity in order to “levitate” the hammer. The shaft is 2 mm stainless rod stock cut to 20 mm.
The “sliced” .3mf file includes two pause points for the magnets and one color change (optional).
No need for glue with a metal build plate. For glass or a non-ferrous surface, use a small drop of CA glue to keep the magnets from getting stuck to the print head.
