Printed in PLA. The smaller bearing is a bear to free up and the bearings can be printed without a brim or skirt to keep things clean. Very tight fit for everything. Definitely needs some sort of lubricant. The control gear for the prop pitch at the top is susceptible to snapping off the shift if over strained in a bend, so work carefully to get it over the outer planetary gear.

Variable Pitch Propeller Mechanism. Smaller parts need some clean-up to run smoothly together but otherwise it's a beautiful model. I had a little trouble printing bearings until I reduced speed a bit and increased retraction. A really great project and well documented. I'm thinking of motorizing it.

This was a fun model! I need to do some fine-tuning to make the gears move more smoothly but it's a very nice, fully operational model. Thanks Chris B! (edited)

this is one of the mechanisms I knew existed but never got to see first hand... SO THANK YOU :)

Material: PETG. Runs smoothly alt gear and some sanding :)

most parts printed with mk2 0.2 speed with input shaper

amazing, Still need to figure out where the variable pitch is binding up, but its probably a bad elephant foot that happened on one of my plates. Still figuring out my new bed probe /shrug

Thanks for the amazing model!

Printed in esun abs+ silver, and polymaker abs black

Printed and assembled really nicely. I really like this mechanism and model! Like others, I had some difficulty getting things running smoothly.

Some printing tips:
The bearings required a tiny pair of needle nose pliers to rock/snap the balls free from their cages, even with a well-tuned printer. Don't let that stop you, it's not hard work, just requires the right tool.
I used silicone spray lube on all the moving parts to help. I also tried graphite lubricant, but it seemed to not work as well and stains your PLA.

It's amazing, i like it! Thanks for uploading!

What infill would you recommend to use?

@Berd_1318447 Hi, I used the default values in PrusaSlicer for everything (20% I think).

@ChrisB Thanks bro! Printables is actually a cool site as it turns out haha
