My goal was to make a mounting bracket for the Raspberry Pi 4 that fastens to an MK3S which would look like an OEM part / accessory for the printer. My Pi 4 has an aluminum Pimoroni heatsink case as I liked the idea of the case being a big heatsink and it eliminates the need for a cooling fan. The 2-piece bracket was designed primarily to allow for connection of the power supply cord and the two USB 2 ports on the Pi 4. One of the USB ports is connected to the MK3S USB port on the Einsy electronics board via a 6" USB cable. The other Pi 4 USB port is used to connect a web cam. The bracket design also allows for easy access to the microSD card on the Pi 4.

The hardware for assembling and fastening the bracket to the printer frame came from the spare parts bag of the kit. Four screws fasten the bracket frame to existing threaded holes located on the printer frame above the Einsy electronics unit. The other two screws are used to fasten the bracket cover to the front of the bracket frame once the Pi 4 is slid in place. Note the M3 square nuts are installed in the bracket frame just like other printed parts on the MK3S.

Print instructions

The included print files can be used to print the bracket cover and frame using Prusament PETG. I tried both Jet Black and Prusa Orange with successful results. After trying several infill patterns and densities, use of a rectilinear fill pattern with a 10% and 20% fill density for the cover and frame, respectively seemed to produce the best results. You will also notice the first layer bed temperature of 100 deg C is used for the cover as I wanted to really "set" the texture pattern on the cover face. Other than that, all other printing parameters are Prusa Slicer defaults.
