Requirements

  • A Drill Press (this mod will be impossible with a hand drill).
  • SCV10VUU Linear Bearings
  • 8x M5 x50mm Stainless steel bolts
  • 8x M6 x20mm Countersunk Flat head Stainless steel bolts
  • 8x M6 x20 Socket Cap Head Stainless steel bolts
  • 3030 Series M6 and M5 Sliding T-Nuts (not the rotating type)
  • 3018 Pro to 3040 Extension Kit

Use the drill guides in the order as numbered to drill out the 2x Large Connection Boards. I recommend you use M6 x20mm Bolts with the drill guides to locate them on the Extension Brackets and use a “Spur Wood aka BradPoint Bit” to drill the holes into the Connection Boards. You'll need to countersink 4 of the holes, as shown in the pictures, or the bolts won't clear the ends of the frame.

You'll also need to drill the out the threads in the Aluminium Bearing Blocks using a 5.5 mm High Speed bit.

I recommend printing the Bearing Mounts in ABS+ and 50% Cubic In-fill.

Optional Z-Height Upgrade:

You can replace the 2x 2040 x480mm Aluminium Extrusions with 2x 2080 x480mm Aluminium Extrusions.
