This OpenSCAD script will generate inline skate/scooter/luggage wheels of any size and profile that you desire. 110mm and 120mm wheel examples are included (so you can just download and print a replacement for your kid's worn out scooter wheel right away!).

To print these wheels you'll need a multi-material printer that can (reliably) print rigid (e.g. PLA, PETG) materials alongside flexible (e.g. TPU) materials.

Suggestions for improvements are welcome!

Print instructions

Print the hub with at least 50% infill or you'll be sorry. I highly recommend using gyroid infill as it was basically engineered for things like this. Also make sure you use at least 3 perimeters but the more the merrier!

You can control the "softness" of the tire via the infill and number of perimeters but for the greatest wear length you'll want to crank up the perimeters to the point where it's basically 100% infill (just on the tire).

The script has the option to generate wheels with spokes (holes) or without spokes. Believe it or not, using spokes makes the wheel stronger! This is because it results in perimeters (which are the strongest part of a 3D print) that are always perpendicular to the road/ground.
