Phones have good cameras nowadays. Only, you can not mount them on a good tripod. So here is the solution. This socket has an ¼ inch thread so you can attach it to a regular tripod head. A frame to hold your phone can be slid in the socket. If needed you can glue it to the socket.
The frame in the printfile is meant to be for a One Plus Pro 8 in a bumper. If you own a different type of phone the frame should be resized to fit that phone. A parametric FreeCAD file is included. In the spreadsheet you can change the dimensions of your phone.
No FreeCAD or trouble changing the dimensions? Send me the width, height and thickness of your phone and I’ll send you a proper printfile.
If you own a Manfrotto tripod with a quick release plate, please check out my design for that plate. It works fine with this mount.
