Need a friend who can watch over your prints and give you a sense of unwarranted calmness? Someone to repair your spaceship after you've taken one too many laser blasts to the rear? R2D2 is your guy - and now he can dock with the Prusa Mini!

This is a printable motor visualizer for the Prusa Mini Z-axis for you to enjoy! I have split the model into different parts for printability, so some glue is needed for assembly.

Parts needed:

1x Base
1x R2 Body
1x R2 Head
1x Shaft
1x Neodymium magnet (8x3 mm)
Hot glue
Super glue

Assembly Instructions:

Print the parts with the gcode provided or slice the STL files yourself. I recommend printing head and body in white, the other parts can be whatever color you prefer.
Hot glue the shaft to the R2 Head. Then attach the magnet to the bottom of the shaft. Super glue might be needed.
Press fit the R2 Body to the Base or glue them together if you prefer.
Place the body-base combo on top of your Z-axis motor and drop in the Head-shaft-magnet combo.

Optional decoration:

Paint the R2 head to make it more iconic. Your imagination sets the limit!

V2 (under construction)

There are some details I wish to change for it to be even more satisfying. I will upload a V2 in the future with the following updates:

Updated shaft and head connection that does not need glue.
Updated base that has cutout for Z-axis motor cables and more seamlessly fits on top of the stepper motor from a visual standpoint.
