I sometimes have to analyze small parts for my work, and due to the pandemic caused “work from home” situation, I don't have access to the digital microscope in the office.
At least I have an analog microscope at home, but I was not able to share my findings, because I was not able to make pictures of it.
I started to try to hold my phone camera over the ocular by hand, but it was hard to get a reasonable picture.
So I designed this fixture, to always have the camera lens of my phone well aligned to the ocular of the microscope. The results are always satisfying.
The ocular adapter has oversized holes for the mounting bolts, and also for the phone-plate. This allows alignment adjustments between the phone-camera lens and the ocular of the microscope, if need be.
For assembly you will need:
The ocular of my microscope has an outer diameter of 37mm, and is approx. 30mm long. This might be not standard so I added the file for the ocular adapter as STEP, so you can adjust or redesign it according your needs.
Anyhow, the ocular adapter requires support for printing.
