This is a printable model of a device which folds a 1cm Keder / Piping out of a 4cm fabric strip. It folds the edges to the inside and than folds it to a U-shape, so you can sew it to your fabric edges to prevent from frazzling.

Instruction of use:

What you need:
  • A 4cm fabric strip in the length of the fabric you want to cover (plus a few cm for cut offs)
  • The folding device as published here
  • A wire (Diameter 0.7 up to 1.0cm; ~15cm long)
Preparatory work:

Wire:

Bend a very small hook on one end (and optionally a ring on the other end).

Fabric strip:

Cut the edges (as lead it champers), and cut a small hole in as show on the picture below.

Use Instruction:

Thread the prepare wire form the “U-side” through the device.

Hook up the fabric strip in the hook of the wire

Pull the strip through the device

That's it.

Depending on the used fabric, you might need to press or iron the folded strip, to let it remain in the shape until you have sew on the fabric.

Print Instruction:

Nothing special.

I used PETG, but other materials might work, too.
