“The Longbeam […] was state-of-the-art, a brand-new design from the Republic shipyards on Hosnian Prime. It wasn't a warship per se, but it was no pushover either. […] It was a tough, beautiful beast, no doubt about it.” [Charles Soule, Star Wars: Light of the Jedi, Chapter Six]

This model is 185.2mm long, 85.4mm wide and 16mm tall. I can not give an accurate scale, because I do not know the in-universe size of this ship and estimations range from 50m to 200m. The scale is 1:270, assuming that this ship is 50m long.

The model comes with a stand, but can also fit a big pin and holder. The turrets at the front can be rotated. The model is printed in two pieces, which combine without glue.

There seem to be two distinct types of Longbeams. I call this type the type B or type Besh. I've also made a model of the type A or Aurek.

Print Instructions

The model is split into back ("longbeam-type b body") and front ("longbeam-type b bow") sections. This reduces the number of supports. You can also use the full model ("longbeam-type b full"), but I recommend using the split version.

Printed with PLA at 0.15mm layer height. Needs supports on buildplate.

The stand was printed at 0.2mm layer height and does not require support. The base of the stand was printed with two filament changes.

Small Version

The version “star_wars_longbeam-type b small” is just 25mm long, 12mm, wide, and 2mm tall. The scale is 1:2000, assuming that the Type B Longbeam is 50m long.

Printed at 0.1mm layer height. Requires supports. Organic supports are recommended.

For comparison, this pictures shows the small version of this model in the lower right corner, next to the small Type A Longbeam and a MPO-1400 Purrgil Star Cruiser, all at the same scale.

For Light and Life.
