This is a fix to a problem you didn't realize you had!
*****PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BELOW. THIS GOES INTO FURTHER DETAIL AS TO WHY THIS PART IS IMPORTANT/USEFUL*****
The K1 Series printers chamber thermistor is in a direct path to where the tool-head blows air for part cooling.
Due to this, your chamber thermistor gives you a false reading. It always gives a reading that the chamber is 5-10 degrees hotter than it actually is and it is easily influenced by the hot air from the build plate being blown directly at the thermistor.
The easiest way to prove this is happening is to watch what happens during your start print when you go to wipe the nozzle. If you pay attention to the chamber temperature during this section, you will notice that the chamber suddenly raises in temperature by about 5 degrees when the nozzle is cooled down by the part cooling fan. You will also see the same thing happening when you're printing your first few layers and the fan is close to the build plate.
This isn't a huge problem when printing materials like PLA or PETG where your build plate temperatures are relatively low. When you start to print things like ABS or ASA where your build plate needs to go to 100c and higher this becomes a big problem.
If your fan blows to much hot air at the thermistor you can get false readings causing the print to fail and your printer to shut down.
I have had my chamber temperature read something like 70 degrees celsius when in reality it was only about 50c. This all happened because the fan was blowing hot air at the thermistor.
This mod fixes this issue by completely enclosing the thermistor allowing it to give you very accurate and consistent chamber ambient temperature readings. It also opens up the possibility to add some customization like I have done by adding my logo.
