From one, many.

This is a parametric Gridfinity compatible “plain” bin designed in FreeCAD. With this you can create any size bin with a configurable number of dividers (including none). Each bin includes a stacking lip and straight walls. I prefer straight walls rather than having a protruding stacking lip so that things don't get snagged on it when you go to retrieve them.

Use these to store whatever. Far be it from me to tell you what to do.

By the way, any size means any size.

Some examples are included, but the magic happens in the .FCStd file.

Simply set your desired parameters in the spreadsheet included with the file:

Absolutely Not Required:

  • Hassle
  • Math
  • Fusion or Solidworks license
  • PhD in OpenSCAD
  • Money
  • Effort

It's easy!

The row counts are expressed in number of Gridfinity cells. The walls height is expressed in Gridfinity units, which are 7mm each. The height of the grid base must also be accounted for, although this will recess into your grid by approximately 5mm. These should stack with and play nicely with other Gridfinity bins and accessories.

Holes for magnets are included if you wish; otherwise you can use FreeCAD's “suppress” setting to remove these if you prefer.

This was designed using FreeCAD 1.0 Release Candidate 2, and probably will not open in older versions.
