Compact EZ Load MMU3 Buffer

I added "EZ Load Top Housing 2b body" and "EZ load Top Housing 2b inlay" files. these are basically the same but have separate STL files for the body and the numbers on the front as well as a few minor tweaks to try and reduce the filament catching when feeding through, not sure if these work yet as I have only just made the tweaks, but I am hopefull….

I was looking for a compact Buffer because my workspace is limited. and found the one by DLD Design Lab.

I modified it to use a simple tool that slides in through the front to guide the filament for loading, so I don't have to open the cover anymore. I can still open it if needed, but so far I have not needed to.  Just slide in the tool and feed the filament all the way to the MMU.

I also made my own mounting brackets to hold it on the power supply side of the printer. it requires changing the screws that hold the top Z axis rod guide on the printer with longer screws (at least 20mm long if I remember right) to hold the top bracket with washers and nuts on the back. 

I hang the spools from a piece of 1" sch40 PVC pipe over the top of the printers, so the whole thing only takes up a few more inches of bench space instead of the entire bench.

It does require a hand full of various size M3 screws and nuts, 5 each 608 bearings, and 2 T-nuts to mount the bottom bracket on the bottom of the printer. ( I didn't make a complete list - I just used spares I had laying around).

printed in PLA many of the parts require a brim for bed adhesion. I didn't use any supports.

The top housing needs to be printed numbers face down, the number are slightly recessed to make painting easy.

I first used it on my MK3S+, then I upgraded to a MK3.5, MK4 and finally MK4S. It fits them all.
