Learning tool and puzzle for toddlers to learn motor skills, pattern matching, and the alphabet. Requires a good sized printer (the board is 270 mm x 310 mm). I do not know how well it would scale to print smaller, but I would worry about the letters becoming too small for a toddler toy.
See my upcoming numbers model at https://www.printables.com/model/1027008-toddler-numbers-puzzle for a smaller numbers puzzle that provides the numbers 0 through 9 in a size that mid size printers (210mm+) can handle.
I printed the base with PETG, 40% infill and 3 outlines, and the letters in ABS with 35% infill and 3 outlines. Creating a young person's toy I was looking for durability.
My brother's grandson loves puzzles, I printed one with 9 shapes that I found on another site and he plays with it a lot. So I figured it was time to start with something more - but I could not find an alphabet puzzle. This one has a board that is 320x260mm, so it takes a large printer to fit. Some of the letters create errors when loaded into certain slicers (Simplify3D has no issues with them!) but use the repair tool and they should all print successfully - the alphabet font that I used creates some artifacts that some slicers do not like. I cannot do anything about that, I am sorry if it does not work for you.
I printed the board from PETG and the letters from ABS, all with 35% to 40% infill to give it some durability. It may be overkill, but I don't want toys to break.
NOTE: I have found a printability issue with the original file posted where the bottom of the letters in the original design required a lot of post processing trimming to make them fit. If you were one of the first 4 people to download this design before noon Eastern US time on October 5, 2024, please reload the letters zip file.
