Needed a trophy for a donut splitting contest at my kids costume party. (Everyone splits a donut each in two pieces. Most equal pieces by weight wins.) Perfect model for this! Had to do a very quick paint job though. Printed on its back to ensure a strong ”neck” under donut. Scaled it down to about 70-80% something.
Used polymaker white ASA. Connectors scaled to 99% which fit, but wasn’t really tight. Used acetone on the connectors for the final build to “melt” joints together. Used 6mm plexiglass I found for cheap. Good job on spacers. Easy to scale to fit those. Had to find a different hinge, but it works well and the doors are removable.
I'm somewhat new to 3dprinting so there were a few things a struggled with but I am very happy over all with how it turned out. I have a Kobra 2 max and they have Notoriously loud fans and this enclosure has made the sound much more manageable.
I wanted the enclosure to be as solid as possible but I did still want to be able to take it apart so I chose to glue the top and bottom so they are one piece and then I slide the walls in but it can all be broken down flat.
I built using pla+ and printed with 6 perimeter walls for strength and it feels good and I'm not worried about it falling apart.
I used 5mm plexiglass which worked very well with the "fillers" parts that are provided
I did have issues getting the connector pieces to fit so I used the cut function on my slicer and nipped the corners back about 1mm and they work great, the issue is probably my printer settings but keep in mind that this was designed to be very precise.
As you can see in the photos I installed a fan on the top to vent excess heat and it will hopefully double as a filiment dryer.
Future plans are to print and install an active carbon filter that I found here on printables but for now I'm going to use a dryer hose and just vent to my window.
Came out great. Although the pin breaks easy.I'm hoping someone can give me suggestions to fix the pin. My puppy loves it. I made a video of it and linked below for anyone interested.
