Following the print settings specified in the Sherpa Mini github, print the main body, idler arm, and front cover. Also print the stock rear housing from the Sherpa Mini github.

Remove the modeled-in support from the switch recess in the main body. I use a flat head to break the bottom free, then wedge the flat head in between the top of the support and the extruder body to snap it free. There is another leg for the support to remove from the back if it separates from the rest of the support. You should see a round indentation for the ball bearing once the supports are properly removed.

Standard Sherpa Mini BOM plus:

  • D2F switch (D2F-L works too, but you'll have to remove the lever)
  • 5.5mm diameter ball bearing for sensor
  • 2x M2x10 (self-tapping) screws to hold switch in place
  • ECAS fitting
  • Enough wire to reach from the switch to wherever you're plugging it in

Differences of the remix compared to the original

Sherpa Mini:

  • Added filament sensor section
  • Adapted front cover profile to match sensor section
  • Extended idler arm to go beyond ECAS

Filametrix:

  • Borrowed the filament sensor section with minor modifications
