LSS (Long Story Short): Shelf for Unifi UX Gateway/Wifi and Unifi Flex Mini 5 port switch.

Printed in PETG (Prusament)

  • 0.30mm (draft)
  • 2 perimeters
  • 30% gyroid infill
  • Stand designed to print upright with flat side on the bottom. (tree supports for the overhang hole [see screenshots]
  • Cover designed to print writing side up without supports (optional for the cut corner) as any overhang sag is invisible.

Note: Organic supports are only really needed for the hole in the top of the shelf, but can be used for the corner of the cover. They are NOT needed for the inside of the cover, as it won't be seen, so a little sagging is irrelevant.

Features:

  • Unifi UX clicks softly into place, has a cutout on top to prevent temperature build or wifi interference.
  • Unifi Flex Mini clicks softly into place, and has a slightly wider channel on LHS to allow for the USBC power cord. There is enough room to turn the standard included cable behind the cover
  • The cover just stops it from looking terrible from the front
  • Recessed disks on the underside to attach adhesive rubber feet

Longer Story:

I am slowly recommending that family who want me to help with IT support, that they get a Unifi UX and Flex Switch combo, as it makes it MUCH easier for me to do all manner of things to help them.

I didn't like how messy the stack was for them, as often the internet is housed centrally on the TV cabinet or equivalent, so I designed this to make it neat and tidy for them. I am looking to print in wood filament eventually to make it blend in better, but for now, Prusa black galaxy PETG looks great.

The item has an “Internet Do-Hickey” label on it, as this is what my mother refers to the router as, so it seemed appropriate. F3d file included, so change it to say whatever you want.

The F3d also includes the models I built for the UX and FlexMini.

Note: The Ethernet ports in the flex mini model came from a GRABCAD flex-mini I downloaded (attribution Laurence Gonano) but I discovered the model's dimensions did not match any of the 3 flex mini units I had, so I modeled my own, but kept Laurence's Ethernet ports.
