The INEOS Grenadier lacks a good sunglasses holder.  This attaches to the overhead console in the unused portion. This is the TALL version with gives more space, but blocks the view of the button in front of it.  It also has space and some attachment points for a garage door opener.

There are three main file groups.

  1. There is the plain box version that can be used as a base to be used for other purposes.
  2. The main body of the sunglasses holder
  3. Two versions of the door.  One is just a plain door.  The other door is three parts that are the door itself, the red “A” (really upside-down V), and the rest of the ‘GREN DIER” text. The door names ending GRAY, BLACK, and RED are the fancy door.

All the parts are pretty big and I used an XL to print it.  I used PETG CF filled for a matte appearance.  The Letters I printed in regular PETG.

An M3 screw and nut hold the door in place.  There is place for 2 magnets each (4total) in the door and case to help it lock up.  This is meant to bolt over the current console.  So remove the four screws and then use the longer M4x20 coarse thread.

(These screws are not ‘right’ but they are close.  I do worry that a lot of screwing and unscrewing might hurt the plastic in the holes, but I don’t know)

NEEDED:

1 M3 screw and nut

4 magnets round 8mm x 3mm thick

Flocking/cloth to line glasses holder area to prevent scratching.

M4x20mm coarse thread screws

PRINTING

I added supports on the base where the screws heads are.  Standard XL PETG CF profile.

0.2 layer height

Assembly:  Attach the door with M3 screw and bolt.  I used a bit of hot glue to freeze the nut.  Hole for magnets might need cleaning up.  I install the base ones first and then let the door ones kind of ‘float’ to better come in contact with the based magnets.  Hot glue flocking/fabric to door surface.

Install on the garage door opener is an unknown.  Some attachment points for M3 screws to tighten down, but with all the openers out there, it is more something to try.

DISCLAIMER: I DON’T KNOW WHAT I’M DOING. SO USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
