Printing

Use something tough like PETG. Plenty of perimeters (at least 4 or 5). Thicker layers are better for strength, but you may loose accuracy on the inner 20x20.  At least 30% infill (grid is fine).

The notch on one outer face is there to absorb the seam so that the outer faces remain flat and can be used to check the amount of twist if you have a decent flat surface (undamaged/worn kitchen worktop, for example). Make sure the seam is in the notch (modern slicers should put it there automatically). If your pressure/linear advance is not dialled-in you may bet bulges near the corners that will also disrupt rocking tests. Check that the printed part has flat sides before relying on it for rocking tests.

You might want to print a test of the first 5mm height of one block to check for fit on the tube and the issues mentioned above before printing two complete blocks as they use a relatively large amount of filament due to the required infill.

Note

The photos are of an earlier iteration which did not have the enhancements to improve rocking test compatibility.
