Sometimes when you are making custom Gridfinity bins or tool holders you want to know how high to make a container to hold what you need without all the faff of measuring and then having to do additional sums so as to match the unit heights to match the specifications. This is a simple ruler that can be used to measure gridfinity unit heights up to 13u to assist with creating your own custom bins or holders. The unit has a gridfinity 1x1 base so you can store it in a gridfinity grid if required and a side wall to aid with measuring so you can rest things up against it.

I use the the great Fusion 360 Gridfinity Generator by Lev Mishin (https://apps.autodesk.com/FUSION/en/Detail/Index?id=7197558650811789 ) for quickly generating base boxes or starting points for tool holders etc for my Gridfinity collection and so I created this ruler to help me with the Bin height (u) size without having to measure what I wanted to put in the boxes and then working it out. The ruler has marking from 1 unit to 12 units with the top of the ruler matching 13 units. The intermediate lines are based on the bottom of the lip of stackable boxes so you can work out if you need to go up a unit to allow other gridfinity units to stack successfully on top without fouling what is in the box.

I printed the unit laying down on the back face of the numbered side so I could do a filament colour change to black and then back to white to make the numbers more prominent. This was reasonably successful. They can also be coloured by lightly drawing on them with a sharpie if you do not want to do a colour change.
