I was realigning my derailleur hanger the other day after crashing over a curb when I remembered what a pain it is to swing my Park Tools DAG-2 hanger alignment gauge past the stays, especially since my o-rings fell off long ago. I wondered whether upgrading to the DAG-3 or even the Abbey Bike Tools HAG (which they borrowed the idea from) was worth it considering how infrequently I need this tool. Then I saw the indicator pivot that @Chris_178724 designed. It's a fantastic idea, but it doesn't print without supports and doesn't include the DAG-3's angle stops. So I modeled a new pivot and stop block that can be printed without supports.
The stop block slips over the sheet metal sliding bracket. The pivot sits on top with the indicator pin held in the pinch slot. The existing Park ¼-20" thumb screw then holds everything together. It's likely not as smooth as the DAG-3 since I couldn't find wave disc springs locally, but it should make your DAG-1, DAG-2, or DAG-2.2 much less annoying to use. The black indicator end cap was printed directly from Chris' model.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
