I designed this part as the existing system was to put a mesh sheet behind a wood plank with holes cut through it. Unfortunately, some of the screens became damaged. I designed this piece so that it will go into the holes and offer the ability for the mesh screen to be easily replaced.
I recommend printing with PETG, it should be better suited for outdoor use and it is harder than PLA. Also, as the part has threads a layer height of 0.15 mm is preferable due to the overhangs.
Current dimensions for the wall insert are diameter 53 mm, depth 20 mm.
I bought some mesh screen sheets and used some snips to cut out a circular mesh screen. approx. 50 mm diameter.
There are two lock washers that allow for the installation of a single mesh screen or you can double it up.

If you have a slanted roof might be better to mount it at 45 degrees off axis so you can get the drill in. I also recommend predrilling holes for installing the screws.
The top cover screws in last to hide the screw holes, giving a better aesthetic.
I also recommend using some lubricant/grease on the threads for easier installation.
