What is Algoloop?
AlgoLoop is a new fidget toy invented by Japanese mathematician & artist, Yosuke Ikeda.

Simple Mechanism, Infinite Possibility
The basic structure is very simple. By moving a tube up and down, a ball inside is propelled forwards.

Things get interesting as the number of loops and balls increases. The route of the balls changes by interfering with other balls, and unexpectedly beautiful patterns are created.

Mathematical Art
What makes AlgoLoop different from other marble machines is that the movement of the balls in the loop is not determined by chance, but by a logical procedure. This is what mathematicians call Automaton. As well as being a fun toy, AlgoLoop is a truly mathematical art.

Variations
AlgoLoop has 3 types of form: 1-Loop, 2-Loop, and 4-Loop, each of them has different and interesting features

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

This is a recreation of the original model by Yosuke Ikeda using my basic skills in Plasticity. This is an amazing design. Unfortunately I am unable to purchase the toy myself. So I recreated one myself that I can 3d print. Sharing this here for folks who want to print one.

Note: If you like the design / toy please consider supporting the original creator.
