I created a hockey stick protector using the Warrior Sabre Taper Senior Size Hockey Stick. The Print is straight so you have to use a blowdryer to manipulate the model to your stick curve. This enables all stick curves and types of companies to use it. By the toe, there is a locking mechanism for your stick. By the heel/shaft, you can use either velcro or tape to lock that part in. Yes, you can tape up the entire blade, but it rubs away and it is more efficient to do it with the mechanisms given.
Because of the fact that my and many printer volumes are (similar and around the) 220x220x240 given build volume, the model can either be printed nearly vertically (with the normal .stl shown above in my slicer) or horizontally but with a cut (with the modified .stl shown above in my slicer). Between the 2 options, the vertical one takes more time and filament to print but includes the velcro mechanism.
I printed it in TPU and was amazed at how much more durable the protector was. There was much more slap-shot endurance, as the other PLA ones I printed shattered on impact. The PLA was amazing for wrist-shots and stick-handling but couldn't take the impact.
Additionally, the TPU model didn't need to be blowdried as it simply molded to the blade.
Please, if you have any recommendations or comments, comment below or remix my model. Thank You!
